Helping You Get Through The Tough Stuff While Building The Strongest Mind Possible

About MindFort Psychology

MindFort Psychology was founded with the mission of empowering individuals to construct strong (fortified) minds, adept at navigating and overcoming life’s challenges. These challenges often relate to work, family, money, and/or relationships and can often have significant and long-lasting impacts on our emotions and ability to achieve inner peace.

This MindFort approach of creating a strong mind and emotional resilience begins by creating a secure, non-judgmental space, encouraging exploration of concerns and difficulties. Through this process, a personalized evidence-based plan is employed to facilitate healing and growth. There are a range of strategies/therapies that may assist, such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), EMDR, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and ADHD coaching principals, to name a few. The ultimate goal is not to change who you are, but to make the strongest version of yourself possible.

About Ryan Eather

Ryan Eather, a dedicated clinical psychologist, brings a wealth of academic excellence and diverse professional experience to his role. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from Central Queensland University, where he achieved first-class honours and overall first place in his cohort. Furthermore, he holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of New England.

Ryan has developed his therapeutic skills across a range of settings, including The UNE Psychology Clinic, NSW Health, the Department of Communities and Justice, and Lifeline. Prior to transitioning into psychology, he also worked as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), mortgage broker, and property buyer’s agent. This broader professional background contributes to his understanding of the pressures associated with demanding workplaces, financial stress, burnout, and high-performance environments.

Ryan provides evidence-based treatment for a broad range of psychological difficulties, with key areas of practice including trauma (PTSD, C-PTSD, and childhood trauma), eating disorders (including binge eating, bulimia, and anorexia), depression and suicidal ideation, anxiety disorders (including panic attacks and OCD), workplace stress and bullying, and ADHD-related attention and cognitive performance difficulties.

He also supports clients experiencing personality disorders (including Borderline Personality Disorder), bipolar disorder, addiction and substance use difficulties, sleep problems, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and broader emotional or behavioural concerns.

Ryan incorporates a range of evidence-based therapies into treatment depending on each client’s individual needs. He has particular experience working with trauma and eating disorders, drawing on approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-T). More broadly, Ryan also utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the Unified Protocol for Emotional Disorders, and Motivational Interviewing.

Ryan also has experience supporting adolescents and individuals with ADHD and Autism using a neurodiversity-affirming approach. Where appropriate, treatment may incorporate parenting and attachment-informed frameworks, including Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), Circle of Security, and Triple P approaches.

As a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc, Ryan remains committed to ongoing professional development and maintaining current evidence-based practice. He aims to provide a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy, collaboration, and non-judgmental support, helping clients feel understood and at ease throughout therapy.
